No way to get results
President Trump at 100 days

By Laura Jackson
I’m not impressed with Donald Trump’s first 100 days as president of the United States. I feel he wants to do a good job but I don’t know if he can. It appears he’s used to pushing people around to get what he wants. You can’t get the best results when people are working out of fear, when the head of any organization, whether it’s business, nonprofit or government, is used to getting his way by intimidation. It’s a scary thing. But I don’t want us to give up on our country or on ourselves.

With all of that said, remember that people wanted respect to be shown to President Obama, so I think we have to show respect for this president, too. He’s our leader. If you don’t respect him, at least respect the office of the president.
We have to lead by example and show others that you can disagree without being mean, angry, untruthful and unfair. Just because I don’t like your policies doesn’t mean I have to be rude and nasty to you. We can agree to disagree. Let’s educate those who treat others as “less than” by being more than and better than they anticipate.
I am not saying to roll over and accept what is wrong, but to protest with truth, being relentless and creative in the ways we make change.
Never give up hope that together we can make our country better. It is not an easy road. The right way is rarely easy or popular.
